Scotland FM Nicola Sturgeon encounter with Minga Indígena
To symbolically welcome the arrival of Indigenous delegates to Glasgow on the occasion of the UN Climate Summit COP26, FM Nicola Sturgeon assisted a reception and ceremonial gathering at Tramway, Glasgow, where the Minga Indígena Summit will be held. Minga Indígena is a collective of indigenous peoples from across the continent of the Americas stretching from Alaska to the Southern tip of South America. A symbolic moment to greet and exchange a warm welcome with Indigenous Mapuche leader and Minga Indígena Lead Coordinator Calfin Lafkenche, alongside Indigenous delegates. FM Nicola Sturgeon welcomes the arrival of indigenous delegates to Scotland for COP26. She promises: “I will take these demands with me and try my best to make sure your voice is heard”.
