Legal Demonstration outside Inner London Crown Court
Lawyers are gathering outside Inner London Crown Court to fight against the attack on climate activists right to be heard.
Two Insulate Britain activists, Councillor Giovanni Lewis and Amy Pritchard are facing prison time today in London after ignoring a judges order not to speak about climate change during their trial. Even though their trial for participating in a road-blocking campaign resulted in a hung jury – they could still face prison for merely talking about climate change in court.
This is an outrageous attack on the legal rights of climate activists who are acting bravely and with love for the benefit of us all. This move proves that speaking the truth about climate change to judges and juries is extremely moving and effective – the truth about the climate crisis is undeniable. We must continue to stand in solidarity with activists and support their right to a fair trial.
